Hintergrund:
In Sama Kanda (Porowagama/Elpitiya) mussten rund 120 Familien ihr Trinkwasser mühsam an einem gemeinsamen Rohrbrunnen holen – oft mit langen Wartezeiten. In der Trockenzeit blieb teils nur ein weiterer Brunnen im Dschungel, dessen Wasser laut Gesundheitsbehörden wegen Keimen/Chemikalien nicht zum Trinken geeignet ist.
Umsetzung:
Mit Unterstützung der Lifeplus Foundation wurde ein grösserer Gemeinschaftsbrunnen gebaut (ca. 6–7 m tief, ca. 4×4 m). Die Wasserqualität wurde geprüft und als trinkbar bestätigt; zusätzlich wurden Sicherungsmauern rund um den Brunnen erstellt.
Wirkung:
Die 120 Familien haben nun ganzjährig Zugang zu sicherem Trinkwasser – eine massive Entlastung im Alltag.
